Cayden's Camo Party

WOW I can't believe how long it has been since I last blogged!! It has been a very busy few months for us, we just moved and we are finally settled and getting back into the swing of things.  Now that it is summer time I am not running around like a crazy women trying to get one kid to baseball practice the other kiddo to baseball and or tutoring...you all know the how it goes! The typical soccer or in this case baseball mom that pretty much lives out of her car lol! So I should have posted my son's 6th birthday about 2 months ago but hey better late then never. My son Cayden wanted a camo/camping party at the park, he was sooo excited and had a BLAST!!

I had a blast designing all of Cayden's SAVVY Party Designs, he helped me design everything...he had to have it all camo!

He LOVED his camo cookies made by the fabulous Erin of Whip It Good Cookies
She did a fabulous job designing his camo cookies and they tasted AMAZING!!

Of course the FABULOUS cake was made by Candice one of her many SAVVY DESSERTS!! She did such a wonderful job designing his cake. Lots of time and heart went into his cake, Candice is soooo wonderful!!

I got lucky and found these perfect camo baskets from the dollar store, so I filled them with goodies add camo thank you favor tags and they made perfect camo party favors!

I had some fun Kamo Kones designed from Gen of  Celebration Today...The Superchick way!

Cayden blowing out his candles...LOVE that little dude sooo much!!

Family birthday photo, just missing Cody he was off making a mess in the sand box!!

Cayden had such a blast playing with all of his friends and loved all of his fabulous camo yummies, decor, and gifts. Now he wants me to design a camo room for him UGH its never ending!!

The Two Savvy Sisters are wishing everyone a happy and fulfilling Thanksgiving!! We hope everyone has a fabulous Holiday weekend and I wanted to share some of our Thanksgiving treats!!

Yummy cupcakes we made for my son's preschool Thanksgiving show, we had to add our fall cupcake toppers of course!!

I saw this fabulous idea over at Fresh Chick Design Studio. I decided I would make some fun fall gifts for my son's teachers, a small gift to let them know we are so very thankful for them!!

We also made chocolate covered Oreo pops to place inside of the gifts. It was a very fun and MESSY craft!!

I also made a fun Give Thanks banner for my son's preschool show and for my older son's kindergarten feast!! I love the Holidays and the joy of doing fun crafts and baking with my boys!!

Cupcake Recipe Of The Week~Mini Thanksgiving Cupcakes

Cupcake Recipe Of The Week~Mini Thanksgiving Cupcakes
Since this week is dedicated to all things Thanksgiving I am sharing these mini Thanksgiving Cupcakes!! I am going to make these for my son's preschool Thanksgiving show...so excited!!

Mini Thanksgiving Cupcakes

1 cup whole milk, room temperature
6 large egg whites, room temperature
2 teaspoons almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 and 1/4 cups cake flour
1 and 3/4 cups sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
12 tablespoons (1 and 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into 12 pieces and softened

Whisk the milk, egg whites, and extracts together in a small bowl.In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
Using an electric mixer on medium-low speed, beat the butter, one piece at a time, into the flour mixture, about 30 seconds. Continue to beat the mixture until it resembles moist crumbs, 1 to 3 minutes.
Beat in all but 1/2 cup of the milk mixture, then increase the mixer speed to medium and beat the batter until smooth, light, and fluffy, 1 to 3 minutes. Reduce the mixer speed to low and slowly beat in the remaining 1/2 cup of the milk mixture until the batter looks slightly curdled, about 15 seconds.

Preheat oven to 350 and mix all ingredients, bake for 20 to 25 minutes and let cool.

Divide the frosting into three bowls and tint each with desired food coloring tint.
Using your pastry bag and desired tip, pipe the frosting in a cone-shape on the cupcakes!!

Buttercream Frosting
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon meringue powder
1 tablespoon milk
1 package powdered sugar

Happy baking, if anyone decides to bake these adorable cupcakes I would love to see pictures
