My next step was to start painting it black. I used a black satin that I bought from Lowes. I painted three coats and let me say this took me FOREVER...but it was worth it. I love my new dining room table it looks great with my table runner and candles!

Dining Room Table Makeover
My old beat up Ikea table was in desperate need of a makeover...let the fun begin!! First thing first was to clean it up get all the old marker and crayon stains off of it :) then I sanded that baby down! Then I sanded each chair down which took me forever, thank goodness I have an electric hand sanded...my BFF! My next step was to prime, oh boy this took me forever I did one chair each night so that they would dry.

Favorite Table Redo and Message Board Creation
I love painting furniture, so I am posting my favorite furniture redo. I bought this little old table from Craigslist for 25 bucks!!
The first thing I did was clean it up. You could tell the previous owners left it in their garage. Then I sanded it and sanded it and sanded it!!! Then I primed it and let it dry over night. I used white paint I had left over from our cabinets redo. Once the table was dry I destressed it by sanding it down by hand. My last step was to use my favorite mocha glaze. I like to rub on the glaze then let it dry and remove a little using a baby wipe. WOW I love how it turned out!!
Then I decided to add a message board above the table. I found a footboard at Goodwill for 5 bucks YAY!! I cut off the legs primed it and spray painted with chalkboard paint and heirloom white. I then distressed it and add my favorite mocha glaze. My last step was to add the white knobs to hang my apron on. Oh my hubby likes to hang his hats there too!!
I had to add some accessories to the table. I found the vase, planter, and cross at Goodwill. I glued a ribbon around the vase then added some fun spring flowers to it. I spray painted the planter a fun spring yellow color and added some green to it. I also sprayed the cross with my heirloom white spraypaint...my favorite color!!

Board and Batton Backsplash
We have been wanting to do a backsplash for a little over six months but I could never make up my mind! I knew I wanted something white hhhhhmmmm beadboard, tile, beadboard, tile, im so indecisive. Well the other day a light bulb went off in my head!! Why not try board and batton for a back splash...I love it on my dining room walls. So within an hour of my idea I went to work. I already had all the the materials, boards and paint :)
I love decorating with lemons in my kitchen...my favorite accessory!!
I love how the dark basket looks next to the white, plus it hides all of our mess!!
Next on our kitchen redo is to get butcher block countertops, can't wait :)

Table Makeover
I have had these two end tables for 6 years now, it was about time for a makeover :) I painted the tables black and added my favorite paper to the top of the tables. I added little baskets to store some of my kiddos fun toys. I also bought some storage tins that I got for a $1 at Michaels. I spray painted them black to match and now I have a place for all their crayons, markers, chalk...hmmm its neverending!!!

Bathroom Makeover
Bathroom Makeover
First I painted the walls and painted the cabinets, added a new light fixture and faucet. Then the decorating began!! The first thing I did was add a little molding then some fun accessories and finally Oooh la la I was done!
The white cabinets that took me forever to paint :)
I had to add some molding and fun squares!!
I loved redoing my bathroom, however it was a long on going project!!
Wainscoting Treatment and Moulding
I decided to do a faux wainscoting treatment and moulding that I've been wanting to do forever.
So I went to Lowes and loaded up with some boards and got to work. This whole project cost less than $40 and took one evening to install.
I wanted the wainscoting to be somewhat on the tall side so I got some 4 foot boards (1/4 inch thick) and had them all cut at the same time to 3 feet.
We spaced them about 20 inches apart:
Then put one all the way across and topped it off with a chair rail:
And after two coats of paint, this is the final product:
