Hand-made Christmas gifts

WOW I can't believe it is almost Christmas, where has December gone??? I know I have been MIA lately between my birthday, my son's birthday, Polar Express, and Disneyland trip it has been crazy!!!

I wanted to share some fun hand-made Christmas gifts that I have made this year!



I made a bunch of different Christmas word blocks, these are so fun and easy to make.

I also made a few fun custom frames they are also super easy to make and are super cute!!

I love hand-made gifts they mean so much more then just a store bought gift, so I always try and do some kind of fun hand-made gift for my family!!

Cupcake Recipe Of The Week~Sweet Snowmen

I am so excited for Holiday baking this year...I have so many fun ideas that I want to do this year!! I thought I would share these adorable sweet snowmen cupcakes with you!

Sweet Snowmen Cupcakes

22 marshmallows

1 package flaked coconut

44 large black gumdrops

mini chocolate chips

round green gummy candies

red pull-apart licorice twists

Preheat oven to 350 and mix all ingredients, bake for 14 to 18 minutes and let cool.

1. Frost cupcakes place 1 marshmallow on each cupcake for head, arrange slightly off center. Lightly press coconut into frosting around marshmallow

2. For each hat flatten a gumdrop into a 2" circle attach a second gumdrop, flat side down, center the second gumdrop with frosting.
Arrange candies on cupcakes to create face and accessories.

Buttercream Frosting

1 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon meringue powder

1 tablespoon milk

1 package powdered sugar

I am so excited to share this amazing pink, orange, and brown fall theme birthday party with you today! I am so excited that Jennifer shared her party with us, she designed her party using a fall theme with turkeys, owls, and pumpkins...everything turned out fabulous! She did a wonderful job styling her little girl's first birthday party...so darling!!

Every year our family has so much fun counting down the days til Christmas with our advent calender. Happy Thanksgiving

The Two Savvy Sisters are wishing everyone a happy and fulfilling Thanksgiving!! We hope everyone has a fabulous Holiday weekend and I wanted to share some of our Thanksgiving treats!!

Yummy cupcakes we made for my son's preschool Thanksgiving show, we had to add our fall cupcake toppers of course!!

I saw this fabulous idea over at Fresh Chick Design Studio. I decided I would make some fun fall gifts for my son's teachers, a small gift to let them know we are so very thankful for them!!

We also made chocolate covered Oreo pops to place inside of the gifts. It was a very fun and MESSY craft!!

I also made a fun Give Thanks banner for my son's preschool show and for my older son's kindergarten feast!! I love the Holidays and the joy of doing fun crafts and baking with my boys!!

Thanksgiving Feature~Whoot of Thanks Play-date

I am so excited to share this amazing Whoot of Thanks Play-date with you today! I just fell in love with this Whoot of Thanks Play-date hosted by The Savvy Mom's Guide...SO FABULOUS!! I have been waiting and waiting and waiting to post this fabulous play-date but had to wait for my week dedicated to all things Thanksgiving...I am so excited to finally get to share it with all of you!!

For the "Whoot of Thanks" Play Date theme, their inspirations came from a collaboration of fall, Thanksgiving, and Owls. They wanted to feature natural elements such as woods, moss and leaves to compliment this inspiration.

How adorable are these fabulous cupcakes, cake balls and owl cookie pops that coordinated with the colors and theme perfectly...so fun!!

It looks like the kiddos and mommies had a fabulous time!!

Cupcake Recipe Of The Week~Mini Thanksgiving Cupcakes

Since this week is dedicated to all things Thanksgiving I am sharing these mini Thanksgiving Cupcakes!! I am going to make these for my son's preschool Thanksgiving show...so excited!!

Mini Thanksgiving Cupcakes

1 cup whole milk, room temperature

6 large egg whites, room temperature

2 teaspoons almond extract

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 and 1/4 cups cake flour

1 and 3/4 cups sugar

4 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

12 tablespoons (1 and 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into 12 pieces and softened

Whisk the milk, egg whites, and extracts together in a small bowl.In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.

 Using an electric mixer on medium-low speed, beat the butter, one piece at a time, into the flour mixture, about 30 seconds. Continue to beat the mixture until it resembles moist crumbs, 1 to 3 minutes.

Beat in all but 1/2 cup of the milk mixture, then increase the mixer speed to medium and beat the batter until smooth, light, and fluffy, 1 to 3 minutes. Reduce the mixer speed to low and slowly beat in the remaining 1/2 cup of the milk mixture until the batter looks slightly curdled, about 15 seconds.

Preheat oven to 350 and mix all ingredients, bake for 20 to 25 minutes and let cool.

Divide the frosting into three bowls and tint each with desired food coloring tint.

Using your pastry bag and desired tip, pipe the frosting in a cone-shape on the cupcakes!!

Holiday Cards

Shutterfly is my favorite store for photo cards, calendars, and photobooks. I love giving photo calendars as gifts to family members. You would not believe how many compliments I have received on my calendar gifts.

Every Christmas I make photo calendars for our families...it is now a family tradition. Every one in my family loves all the photos and fun memories that are shared in the calenders. I love it because it cuts down on the amount of Christmas shopping I have to do!

I have I am so excited to share our Christmas card with all of our family and friends.
